King-Bradlee Road Diet Meeting Tonight

From: "Seminary Hill Association" <bill.rossello2@PROTECTED>
Date: February 15th 2024

Tonight, city government representatives will hold an Open House and present their plans to redesign King Street between Quaker Lane and the I-395 interchange. The project is intended to improve safety, bus transportation, bicycling, and drainage. If you frequently use that stretch of King Street to commute or visit Bradlee Shopping Center, please plan to attend.

The Open House begins at 5 pm. The city's presentation will begin at 6 pm.

As background, City representatives briefed our board and members at our December meeting on this project. They are calling it "the King Street-Bradlee Safety and Mobility Enhancements Project." The information presented was vague but the project, if implemented, is likely to fundamentally alter what has been a very safe and well-functioning corridor for as long as anyone can remember, several decades at least. We will see tonight if there are some compelling reasons to support this project.

In addition to commuters and Bradlee Shopping Center customers, the project is likely to have major impacts on the Fairlington Towne and North Earley neighborhoods and residents of Lee Bradley Apartments, all of which are parts of Seminary Hill Association's territory.

Your SHA board hopes you can make it to this important meeting.

Best regards,

Bill Rossello, President, Seminary Hill Association
