SHA Residents,

Please join me and the rest of the SHA Board this Thursday evening at 7 pm at Immanuel-Church-on-the-Hill, 3606 Seminary Road, at our annual meeting. Remember that we changed the by-laws a few years ago, eliminating dues, so all residents are members.

Therefore, all adult residents present will be able to vote on the slate of candidates for the board for the term that runs for the next year. You will also hear from the board reviewing the big issues of the past year and be able to speak out on the major issue facing our neighborhoods right now -- the city's proposed zoning changes that will, among other things:

• Eliminate Single-Family Home zoning
• Allow for Multi-Family housing anywhere including at the current site of Alexandria Hospital site
• Eliminate the word "family" from the zoning ordinances in the city code.

We will also present an SHA's award for Community Advocacy to a very worthy recipient.

So, come on out, see your board and your neighbors and perhaps join us for a glass of wine afterwards.
